yikes soap day, not perfect

I made two batches of hp today, one was satin sheets fo, was supposed to be purple, its hot pink! the other brown sugar/fig i wanted orange, is peach, oh well. The satins sheets, barely smells, i hope it gets better. I find that brambleberry has stronger fragrance, natures garden i need to use more. Just venting. I will try cp tomorrow with "fuzzy navel".

You are not alone! I hate it when I'm imagining this perfect color to compliment my scent and it comes out totally wrong.

My Love and Kisses Fo came out the darkest green ever--was supposed to be pink :x Blackberry Pie came out yucky gray--was supposed to be deep purple. (I did save it a lil with some false blue added hastily after the gray)

So my Love and Kisses will now be a St Pattys day Leprechaun Kisses and Blackberry Pie gets demoted to just Berry Pie

What I have learned in the past few days is that even if your soap turns a funky colour when you pour it (and even once it sets), there is still lots of time for it to change. I've had soap change colour over the course of about a week.

I made a light purple floral scented CP soap a few weeks ago that was the most hideous grey colour for the first few days. It eventually ended up turning the exact colour I'd wanted it to... but it took a few days.

I just made another purple soap today that is grey... but I'm expecting it to change.

Wait it out and you might be surprised!

I think soap changes colour as it cures, as it is exposed to light and air, and as the ph balances itself out. It's pretty clever actually, a bit like a lottery, you never quite know what you are going to get. That's part of the magic of soaping!!
