Yet another introduction

Greetings all! I just started making soap. I've about half a dozen batches under my belt right now. My girlfriend really likes handmade soaps, so it works out well since bars are quite plentiful right now!

Soap is a different medium to work in for me. I'm used to metal. I'm a blacksmith that specialized in blades. Usually I'm out in the shop forging a knife or axe. I recently spoke with somebody about making soap, it sounded fun and now it's yet another hobby for me.

The unique thing is that this hobby is leaving my hands cleaner for a change!

I am part of a re-enactment group, but that's not the only place my sharp pointies go to.

I have made a few, but it's usually a when the mood strikes kind of thing for me. I don't prefer double edges.

Welcome Jamie! Your "other hobby" sounds like it would be really interesting and fun as well. Hotter, and certainly dirtier, than soap, but fun just the same. I wonder if any crafter ever settles for just one craft. LOL
