When testing out different recipes, hubby said if you don't mark down the recipes with the soap that you are doing .......you will forget what they are made of.

Well, Thats exactly what happened....:) BUT then I remembered I had put pics up on the Photo Gallery...and YAY, I had also put what I made the soap out of. WHEEEW. lol.

Trying to label up some of this soap I have here so I will know what it is.

Hubby said this morning.......you are gonna have to slow down on the soap making......we are getting to much ( I am sure you all have heard that same thing)

And I said......I just really like to make it,....and being the sweet hubby he is, he said with a little squeeze " I don't care how much you make "

Gotta luv the soap hubbys...:)

Vic, my boyfriend said to me, "dont you ever get sick of making soap?" I looked at him like he had 6 heads and a tail. He said, "ok, ok, glad your doing something you love to do."
Guess what he did last week, he picked up some lye for me locally AND he ordered a whole CASE of it for me for this week and put it on his account. Gotta love them guys.

I've never really had a "hobby" and last night I tried the Funnel. My hubby was holding the funnel for me (he actually came in the house to help me!) and I was so excited and smiling and jumping up and down when it worked. I said to him, "Do you see how much fun I'm having!?!" he said "Do you see how happy I am that you're having so much fun!" It's really nice that he's happy about me finding a hobby!

i've been posting my recipes, scents and pix, not just to share, but also so i have a reference to go to when trying to figure out how old, etc., after my memory span of 4.25 minutes has passed :p

and, btw, i'm not good at notes. i may make them, but keeping track of them is a different story :D

that is why online is the way to go for me :) i can't misplace the internet

I have more notes than I can shake a stick at . I am working on having them all nicely organized , but there is always something to do that is more fun

I totally agree about having a partner that enjoys the craft you are making . I think it would be very hard if they didn't .

I make notes of every batch because I have doo-doo for brains sometimes, and will inevitably forget what was what. I still have an AWESOME soap batch here, and I have no idea what the recipe was because I LOST the dang notes....ugh. So much for recreation.
I'm glad you found your info in the gallery. Yay.

I did buy a notebook and some clear sleeves to write and put my recipes in.....I have recipes I printed out from soapcal ....I just didn't remember what soap I did with what recipe.

I have watched Nancy today on you tube and it looks like she has a straight pin with a little note stuck on the first bar of her soap rows of each kind.

She is kind of fun to watch I think.....LOL.

I have thought of doing like she does, but I can't remember to buy straight pins...hahah.

What a great hubby first of all! A happy wife is a happy life! Ask my husband that one.

I'm running out of room for my soaps. Ugh! I have notes everywhere. This week I decided that's enough. They are all in a pile so I'm buying a 3 ring binder and putting them in there. Ones I've made, ones I printed but never made, other ideas, bath and body, research, etc. As soon as I print it from soapcalc I will put it in my binder and take notes. If I was super cool I'd put a picture with it! Also I'm printing labels as I make soap so I have the ingredients ready to go. They'll go with the curing soap and I'll put a date in pencil behind the label.

I'm talking all big here, but it's nice to have goals!

I have my tried and true recipes in sheet protectors in a notebook, that way if I need to pull them out and use them......and oils get on them, I can just wipe it off.

Put it back in the notebook when I am done.

I used to have a notebook going and I need to get back to it. I kept my recipes and thoughts on the results and also my ideas for new batches.

I have a separate cute girly notebook for my soap thoughts. Random thoughts that is. Kind of like a diary. When I get a thought I need to write it down as fast as possible and it cannot be organized. It's fun looking back at my thoughts and recipes. I usually do all this before bed, probably why I dream about soap! Or sometimes I'll sit outside by the fire, drink some wine, and more thoughts come!

Sitting by the fire with wine thinking about soap sounds wonderful!
