Here is my second attempt at Wood grain pour. First time was a disaster and trace was too thin and ended up just a big brown mess. This time I think trace was a tad thicker than I wanted it to be. I think next time need a thinner trace and main base color could have been a little lighter. Base color was Magic Mushroom from Nurture at 60% of batter and the other 4 colors at 10% each were Honey Blush from Nurture and Metallica, Black Oyster and satin Grey Pillowcase all from Mad Micas. FO was Oudh Wood from Nurture. I think I am getting the hang of this whole soapmaking stuff.

How did the Oudh Wood from Nurture behave? I have a very small bottle sitting in my cabinet looking pretty. It was so expensive, I'm saving it for something special. LOL! Not sure what though, it does smell wonderful OOB!

Beautiful soap! You definitely have upped you soap making skills!!!!

ETA: If I find I'm doing a design that needs the perfect trace. I stick blend to emulsion or very light trace, then let it set for maybe 5mins, stir let set... etc. until what I think is perfect for the design. I tend to stick blend too much, so once I hit emulsion I put my SB away and just stir from that point on. Anyways, Soap on!

The Oudh FO behaved beautifully. No sign of ricing or acceleration. A little tamer after the cut compared to OOB. Would definitely use it again. I only make batches for standard 8 bar mold. Lately I haven’t even been using my stick blender but since first time was way to thin I gave it a couple of pulses with the stick blender because patience is not one of my strong suits. Gave it one burst to many. Thanks for the feedback.
