I almost got avocado again, I haven't used it in a few years due to price but I found one that's not too much, about the same as shea.
The soap is gelling right now. Soaping it was great, I really liked it. Only thing was it set up in the mold pretty fast and just to make sure it would gel I put it in the oven on warm for a bit. Used lavender e-oil and it smells really yum!

Let me know how the avo salt bar turns out! And thank you for all your help, I sort of morphed the two formula suggestions you gave me.

I can't wait to see it:) Palm always traces and sets up fast for me, one of the reasons I'm going to switch to lard instead. It does make nice soap though.

that was a bit annoying, but now i know for next time. The soap is an activated charcoal soap, so it's basically just black, nothing fancy

I unmolded the soap. It looks like I melted down a tire and dumped it in a mold. Last time I made it I put some crushed flower petals on top but not this time. I should have because it’s lacking something by just looking like melted tire :eh:
Still a little too mushy to cut.

Palm will make your bar of soap less soluble so it will last longer. Coconut Oil soap is highly soluble, even lathers in salt water, and will not last nearly as long as a palm oil soap. It is best to balance your oils to get your desired lather and longevity from the bar. I do not even use oo in all soaps, because I am just not crazy with the feel

another palm lover here. it is damn cheap over here, a must have oil for my soaps. also, like Carolyn above me said, palm will make your bars last longer. combined with coconut and 1-2 other oils = divine soap!

mine is cut but still pretty soft. Can't wait to try it though and maybe it will get as hard as it was with the high CO % although i doubt it. Hopefully it's still a nice soap.
