I don't sell, but I make a lot of soap for family and friends and I keep mine unwrapped and stored in baseball card storage boxes (a different box for each scent), and wrap only when they leave my house. I find it's best to let them go unwrapped for as long as possible.
Yes I have made a number of soap bars and I left them in a ice cream container.
I dont see the need to wrap them because im the only one that uses them.
I just was wondering about leaving them in the open air or covering the container
Also using soap dishes. Which would be best so they do not dry out.
My soap dish from walmart isnt very good so I use a sponge.
You actually want the soap to dry out between uses. The soap will last much longer that way. My favorite commercial, store-bought soap dishes are these: http://www.amazon.com/InterDesign-30100 ... 729&sr=1-3. They're not the prettiest things in the world, but they sure work great.
For something pretty and practical, I make my own soap dishes out of door trim from Lowe's. The dishes in the following link aren't mine, but they're an exact example of what my wood trim dishes look like:
To make them, I just buy a 7 foot length of fancy door trim from Lowe's, saw it into 4 inch lengths for each dish, sand the dishes smooth, and seal with waterproof deck sealer.
great information. Thanks.
Yes I have seen homemade bars in health stores only wrapped in a cardboard labeling packaged revealing the ends naked. Which is why I was wondering if it is actually healthier to let the bar breath rather then wrap it.
