Why does my cp look like this?

Hi! Im a CP newbie! This is the first batch that looks like this(see pic attached) I ran recipe through lye calc. I also tapped mold down several times! What went wrong!?

Hi Sarah!

To best help you, we need your recipe, including NaOH and water amounts and any additives, and method.

Off the top of my head, though, I am going to guess that the color and additives were not mixed in well.
 
The recipe was in a book but I substituted palm for lard. Olive oil 12 oz, coconut oil 10oz,lard 10 oz, castor oil 1oz. Strong coffee water 10.8oz & lye 4.6oz. At light trace I added coffee grounds
 
I was thinking that might be the issue. All my soaps with coffee grounds look like that. I don't care for the appearance, but I can see where others might.

Good job on coffee soap, though! Looks like you avoided the overheating issue I seem to always have.

I bet the lighter colored "bubbles" around the coffee grounds is due to that effect we were discussing in another thread where you can get patterns and halos where the amounts of water were different.
