So I love my 3" PVC round molds but I have been wax paper and taping the ends closed with packaging tape. This is time consuming and frustrating and leaves the outsides of my molds tacky and gross when the tape is removed. I grabbed a pipe end cap and slapped it over the wax paper instead of taping it. It totally worked and had the additional advantage of making the base more stable for pouring. Maybe everybody else already figured this out but if you haven't I strongly recommend it.

Yep, end-caps are great. Or you can improvise with something else if you don't have an end-cap handy, like the old stainless steel measuring cup I was using for awhile. It fit onto the base of my PVC pipe like a glove.

If it makes you feel any better, I've never used a end cap either. But then again, I don't use PVC molds. :) Hey, you can still say you came up with the idea by yourself, even if you weren't the first. I say good job, Boyago!

I've looked all over for a flat end cap but all I can find are the dome type which won't work. Where did you find yours?

They're a little concave on the bottoms, but not much. I get them at Home Depot. The should have them most places that sell the pipe. They usually keep them with all the joints in bins.
