been reading up on this whipped soap some.
one thing I am kind of confused about, well actualy 2.
steric acid.
looked that up and its basicaly the same thing thats in palm oil ect.
so wondering do I realy need it or can it be superfated in?
say like keeping a 5-6%sf ? can steric be omited and or supstituted?

another one is the lye sollution.
should I combine the 2 lyes then add them to the liquid?
or add them to liquid seperate? one first then the other.
or devide the liquid an make 2 difrent lye batchs then combine them?
or add one to soap then the other?
is there any danger in tearing a hole in the time space continuum ? lol

first off, that's CREAM soap you are talking about!
second, I know nothing about cream soap, sadly - but am learning right along with you.

umm lol yea
I started off researching whipped soap an some how curved off onto cream soaps.
Regestered at the cream soap group as Rockin suggested.

My curious experimenting wondering mind wonders too much.

Yes, register with the cream soap group.

Yes you need the stearic...it's what "holds" the whip/cream of the soap. Otherwise it would just collapse down...if that makes sense.

Yes you can measure out both lyes into one container and add to your total water amount. There's no need to do it seperately.

Also Snow Drift Farms has a super tutorial with formulas on their web site.

This may seem like a dopey question, but what's the point of cream soap? Or, what is it about cream soap that seems to get so many of you excited? Is it just something new to make? I totally get that - I want to make every kind of soap out there, too. Or is there something else?

I guess I can't imagine the use for cream soap - other than maybe putting it in a liquid soap dispenser and having like a nice cream/lotion type soap. Is that it? Help me out.

And by the way, Layne, you're hysterical. I love your comment about possibly tearing a hole in the time-space continuum. I kind of feel like that too, sometimes, with all this science!

My wet shaver clients like it and use it.

I am also beginning to experiment with this. I think it will be great for shaving and I hopefully will create some for a facial product. The cream soap group is great with oodles of information.

While I do make a CP shaving soap, I think it is hard to convince men to actually try it. It just isn't the same as squirting foam from a can. I have converted some, but with this product, I think it will be an easier convert.

I've never even used the stuff but I think it'll be just lovely & creamy to use in the shower or bath.... whilst I love bar soap I also love liquid soap.... so a compromise I spose.

Okay cream soap - make it & love it. You can make amazing products with it besides shaving soap. Stearic Acid is needed and should comprise 65% of your recipe. The you are also going to add stearic and glycerin to supercream. This is not a whipped soap, that is made using just NOH.

With cream soap you can make amazing foaming facial scrubs, bath soaps that you would put into a malibu tube, foaming mud facials, and the list goes as far as your imagination will take it.

This is a fairly new form of soapmaking and is still being developed, the transformations of the soap as it goes through each stage is fabulous too. I recommend using a crockpot to make this product and make sure you give it the time to rot/cure to get the best results.
