so what are you guys experimenting with this week?

I think I'm going to make my honey, GM without the oatmeal and then a new mango recipe.

I can't play with my clay because they haven't shipped it (boo!)

I just got this cool new microscope... and I always save a few bars from every batch... and I have 2 months worth of batches saved. I'm going to start preparing some slides and see what they look like at 1600x magnification :D

Im giving bastille another shot.Adding CO & castor this time, for some bubbles.Don't like castille lather(if you can call it that! lol) but adore the way it makes my skin feel,so it's getting a second chance :)

Plus I'm using annatto for the 1st time,so could be anywhere from palest lemon to shocking orange! :D

I have sworn myself to pour NOTHING until my Upland log mold comes in...which may take 65 years, but whatever.

But when it does, ooh, the plans I have!!!!

I'm going to finally get to play with some of the EO blends I've ordered from WSP:

Chamomile Neroli
Bladderwrack Blend (to add to the nastiness of this name, I'll be using it in Pine Tar Soap!!! Hahahaha)
OMH using goat's milk, honey, baby oatmeal, and actual honey/almond EO blend...
Rosemary Peppermint
Lavender Blend

:( Have new silicone mold but can't soap this weekend, our heat pump is messed up and have had NO air since Monday. They are here today repairing it. HOPEFULLY next week.

I got 2 shipments yesterday of FO's and ultramarines. I'm gonna play, play, play.

oooh, lucky you!

I'm thinking of making a lotionbar for the hub tomorrow. He has really dry skin and coconut seems to help a great deal.

I just ordered another $250 worth of supplies. (Lord help me) and I have LOTS of plans for B&B items. On the soap front, I'm doing shaving soap and man soap.

I got some Guiness and am going to try some beer soap. Another batch of castille too.

Every guy I talk to about my beer soap wants a Guinness soap. Anything else is unacceptable. Good choice!

Does the KIND of beer matter? I mean, other than for reasons only in the head of the purchaser?

Edited: because correct spelling tends to be helpful.

Right now I'm trying the rebatch in 2 plastic zip locks. I'm cooking down a bag full of scraps to send the Clean the World. I just didn't feel right about sending the scraps themselves, and I have been wanting to try this so I figured what the hay.

I'm planning to try one myself with 80% OO, 10% each CO and PO

I feel like it does (never tried it though). Some have more hops, different hops, oatmeal, barley......it has to change the soap a little I would think. But honestly I think that someone would probably buy a bar of beer soap if it was made with their favorite beer like Murphy's Irish Stout.

I don't think I can soap this weekend. I have to design and sew a new pocket onto a backpack and also sew netting onto the bottom of our tarp tent. It sounds like too much work. I might do a bar of M&P scented with green tweed (my sniffy sample) for my brother.

Ew sewing. :::makes cross with fingers:::  Soap is better. Screw the backpack...
