Ok so I bought some lovely essential oils/fragrances but can't decide what to use for cp soap and which for m+p. I have 3 mixes of scents:

- frangipani fragrance
- sweet mandarin and grapefruit essential oils (which I already have 6 slices of cp soap scented as)
- ylang ylang essential oil, orchid, jasmine and violet fragrance

I'm tempted to make the 3rd mix the cp soap and mix in golden shimmer for a luxury soap for xmas pressies, frangipani for a pretty, funky melt and pour and use the mandarin and grapefruit either as bath salts or bath fizzes.......

What do you think?

I think I'll make the cp soap to something along the lines of this recipe I found online for a silky soap, although I am still to run it through a soap calc so need to check amounts...

Sweet Almond Oil....... 5oz
Castor Oil.......... 3oz
Coconut Oil........16oz
Olive Oil........28oz
Palm Oil.........8oz
Palm Kernel Oil...........4oz
Shea Butter........8oz
Pistachio Oil........5oz
Emu Oil..........3oz

10.76 oz lye (I use 305g as individual grams are easier to measure and control on the scale.
8% superfat
24 oz water
pinch of silk fibers (a little less than 2 grams) or 1/2 tsp. of liquid silk
Mix at 100 degrees
2 oz fragrance, mixed with 1 oz of the reserved almond oil
1/2 tsp mica color

This is a little old so maybe you've made your decisions already but I would use the flowery FOs in MP rather than CP since flowery types tend to accelerate trace.

That is a lot of different oils for the CP recipe. I would use a more basic recipe with one or maybe two of the luxury oils. CO and PKO are so similar it doesn't seem necessary to use both. IMO that is just a lot going on, can't imagine fitting it all on a label. The soaps I've made with many ingredients were never anyones fave. Did you try it? How did it come out?

Thanks for the reply, no I haven't made anything yet I was waiting for some replies.

I'll try simplifying the recipe then and cut out pko

I chose the 4 fragrances together as I have an all time favourite bodty lotion from molton brown and those were the 4 scents used and I really want to re-create the scent
