What to charge for a custom batch of soap

A friend of mine, as asked me to make a specific fragrance and color of soap. She is only buying 6 soaps out of the batch. Do I charge her extra for doing a whole batch for her? Or just the usual? Which is usually, for me, around $3.50 an ounce. She is a friend, so she is getting a friend and family discount too. I just don't know how to charge it.

I would charge her for what she walks away with. But that's just me

I make some soaps just for family and friends. I don't charge any extra unless a specific ingredient is more costly etc.

You can always size your batch down to be just her 6 bars, if you don’t think you or anyone else will like her specific request. I wouldn’t charge more, unless you had to buy something specific that you won’t use otherwise.

There are some posts here, and also some YT videos, showing how to make a "dam" inside your soap mold to shorten it up. That way, you can make only as much as she wants.

I agree with @dmcgee5034 -- I would size down the batch. I have a friend that I make a special batch for. I only make enough for her. Or, I make a larger batch and save the rest for the next time she requests it.
