Since it does have those lye pockets do you dispose of entirely, or rebatch, excluding the pieces with the pockets?

I should probably rebatch, but I may keep it for myself and try just carving out the odd Evil Zap Blob as they turn up, if there aren't too many of them.

What about adding your juice (really cold, or frozen) to the lye. This would enusre enough liquid and you could still have your color?

I usually do use the full amount of liquid (coffee/beer/wine/cucumber/veg juice...) and add lye to it, then mix with the oils. I was just trying something different, for no particular reason.

Well, that's two things I probably won't do again - no separation of liquids, and no microwaving. (Bad surf girl, bad).

Surf girl - are you sure you won't rebatch? If you add a little bit more carrot juice at that time your colour may stay just as pretty?

Tanya :)

P.S: Notice I am NO help with the technical side of this thread, though I sure am learning a lot

Yeah, I may rebatch just so I don't get surprise Zap Blobs. It's just that I REALLY like the colour of these ones. The first soap I rebatched was carrot soap, and it ended up a decent but ordinary orange. I expect this will turn out the same way.

Thanks, all of you, for your input!
