Welp, I had my first-ever experience with ricing, and I did not like it at all. I wasn't exactly surprised, since one of my FOs said "mild acceleration and ricing in CP soap" AND I used annato-infused oil for coloring in a small batch i intended for an ITPS. What I didn't expect was that it would not start ricing until I had poured 3/4 of the batter into the mold. I quickly poured the batter back into my container and stick blended until smooth (goodbye, swirl!), then raced out into the garage to find another mold. I'm hoping all will be well tomorrow. *sigh*

I decided I needed another batch of soap paste, so got that going. Just finished a handful of 10ml body sprays and rollerballs. I came across these cuties I bought for soap toppers, so now I need to plan out a cute design. I'll prolly do a floral top for the gnomes and fairies, and maybe the honeycomb top for the little bees . I have 3 wknd events in April so I gotta get my tail in gear!

I made a hanger tool for three 18" loaf molds for $36 (with three 3' stainless steel rods left over)
@justsomeguy Consider experimenting with flexible tubing like an aquarium air hose, straws from the local coffee shop, or silicone straws that you can slip around the curve. Making the hanger tool thicker will help move the batter better and give you more dramatic swirls.

The one I made is an eighth of an inch thick. I also have a quarter inch thick rod but nothing to bend it like I want to.

I tried the air hose thing in the very first challenge I entered and it went horribly wrong. The batter was way to thick and everything stuck.

Making the hanger tool thicker will help move the batter better and give you more dramatic swirls.
I'll find a free way to bend that 1/4" rod then.

Oh, and I made a second tool for free for the slab mold😁

I bent it with the tube bender. Which didn't break like I knew it would🤯 My muscles weren't strong enough with the tube bender alone so I used one of the poles of one of my many shelves🤯

It's a smidge to long. And it feels about 3-4x thicker than the 1/8" one🤯

Oh, and, it's $2.45😁
