One week into cure, the green indigo has faded significantly.
I'm glad I added some activated charcoal and pink clay to the indigo colors so there will still be a little swirl when the green is completely gone.The faded bar is the same one on the left in the original picture.

Thank you. It'll be fine, but it looks like using indigo as a colorant is pointless for me. I might as well skip the infused oil step.
Making another dozen of these for a special order for a friend. Love those last minute gift requests!
Part of my lineup for gift giving this year includes a set of simple beer soaps made using craft beers that were leftover from my retirement party in late October. The green one is my favorite. I had no choice but to call it ‘tis the Saison because it’s made with a Belgian-style saison ale and scented with a @Zing EO blend that is perfect for the holiday season.

Well, that isn't a promising start to my new season. I'm in the middle of making my first batch of salt soap for the year. However, I'm out of coconut oil and I'm out of rosemary EO, two of the main ingredients. Not a good start. I could have sworn I had another gallon of coconut oil. It might be time to do a quick inventory... and a trip to our local health food store.
Update: I ended up having enough coconut oil to make my batch. We drove to the health food store to pick up a small bottle of rosemary EO. Salt soap is now in the molds so all's well that ends well.

I wanted to make a high Shea recipe, so I read through several threads on here. Thank you @cmzaha for all the information you've shared about soaping with Shea butter!
I formulated a recipe with 55% Shea butter, and made a 16oz batch to test the recipe today.
I also am happy to report that my Patchouli Bacon soap isn't zappy!
Oh, I also got to use my new stick blender today. It is game changing! It is so much more powerful, but quieter and NO BUBBLES! My last one I had to blend a lot to bring anything to emulsion, and it made so many bubbles that the batter was almost foamy. (And yes, I burped it diligently) I only needed to pulse the new one a couple of times to get the batter to emulsify. Now I understand why everyone says to only run the SB in short bursts! I'm so happy with it!

I'm constantly threatening to fire my inventory guy. He is notorious for not keeping the shelves stocked. I go to make soap and have nearly empty bottles of lye, no shea butter, charcoal, etc. Then I have to go to the store and/or re-work my color and scent plan. But you know, it's Christmastime now and who fires staff at this time of year? So he's safe for now.
