They turned out gorgeous! Just so you know, the obsession usually never ends
Where did you get that mold? What’s the name of it?! It’s gorgeous!First success Goat Milk Soap! This is my 5th batch of soap and my 2nd attempt at goat milk soap. No one warned me that soaping is a straight up obsession! I go to sleep thinking about my next batch and wake up with so many ideas. So much soap, so little time
It is a pretty cool planet.I made a batch of Lollypop swirl soap and a ball soap that I call "my Saturn soap".
All the five boys, my grandchildren, like it very much but I can not yet part with it.

I patched them!!I'm not making full blown soap dough, just using little bits of soap for patching. What lye conc do you use? I use 40%, but even at that low water amount I usually can scrape bits of soap from just below the surface layer that will soften up enough for patching. That approach works best within a day or two of cutting the soap. For harder/drier soap, I very lightly spritz a small chunk of soap with water, wrap it in plastic wrap, let it soften up overnight and then work it to a dough consistency. The bits of soap I use are small - the size of a hazelnut, or possibly a walnut. I forgot that you used soup dough to make the soap. If you have any of that left, you should be able to use it to patch without having to sacrifice a bar.
ETA: you can watch Teri of Tree Marie Soapworks use bits of trimmed soap to patch a bar, starting at around 17:30.
Fantastic first try!!I beveled my very first kaleidoscope soap today.
Thanks!Beautiful white soap!
How do you make tiny soaps for camping from embed paper? Sounds intriguing…Thanks! I just received the paper today so will be getting a few printed, protected and sliding them on ...
Oh, you're right! I even have some of the embed paper. I bought it originally to make tiny soap strips for travel, camping etc., just never got around to doing it yet. The to-do list just seems to grow without every shrinking. lol I might have to give that a try if the waterslides are a bomb. Thanks for the suggestion!
Where are you seeing her soaps? I can’t see them-I wanna see too! That’s amazing! Your stuff looks beautiful!
My plan at the time was to dip the paper in soap batter and hang it to dry from a corner. Once dry enough to cut I was going to use a wheel cutter to cut into square or rectangular pieces. I've seen that others are simply using tiny gummy/candy molds for travel/camping soaps. That seems a bit easier and wouldn't require the paper. So not sure now what I'll do with the paper. lolHow do you make tiny soaps for camping from embed paper? Sounds intriguing…
Your solution sounds nice, as you can get a decent sized thin bar, that will disappear upon use.My plan at the time was to dip the paper in soap batter and hang it to dry from a corner. Oh, yes this might be a better solution for backpack type camping. Would love to hear if you try it out.Your solution sounds nice, as you can get a decent sized thin bar, that will disappear upon use.
My sister does a lot of camping/hiking where she carries all her stuff on her back on her hikes and counts every ounce she has to carry. This sounds like a good solution. Thank you
Hahaha! Normal does seem to be fitting!Funny? I thought it was normal. PERFECTLY. NORMAL.
