okay, I am a chicken, I will not tongue test cp soap. What I plan to do is hp the batch with fresh soap, then I will tongue test it.

From Carebear***OK, I'm seriously trying to reign it in here - but I strongly STRONGLY suggest that you stop selling soaps for a bit until you have a better handle on soapmaking. I'm not saying this because I don't want you to be a soaper or sell soaps or save the world. I'm saying this because it worries me that you may potentially sell something dangerous which would be bad for the recipient and for you. ***

Carebear, I'm just going to answer you honestly. "NO" I will not stop selling, I am only selling what I am using and what friends and family are testing and using with no complaints. The only complaint I am getting is about low lather, and that was only from two people.

I've never even given anything away I didn't use myself.

I will only say this, all this up-in-arms stuff that took place in a land far away about me "selling" soap had more to do with folks stirrin the pot then a general concern about my experience. I read extensively on both forums and I am the ONLY person that gets ragged on about selling, no one else supplies you guys with years of experience before you guys are hi-fiving them about being at a craft fair or opening up a shop.

So carebear, chill, It's okay, I'm not hurting anyone....I had a great day out hustlin soap, talking to people and seeing old friends...and since I'm free tommorow, I'm cleaning up my lab (used to be the kitchen) so I can rebatch tommorow.

Does it zap?

it's cp so won't it zap no matter what till it cures?

OK, Philly.
Jig is up. You seriously need to STOP.

Go back, read EVERY WORD at Miller Soap, then read it all again.

There will be a quiz.

Honestly, Philly - I know that you know that what you say you are doing is dangerous. I can only assume that you either; 1. Don't care. 2. Don't have the sense to learn the right way or 3. Are purposely Trolling our forum trying to stir-the-pot.

Whichever it is, we are watching - clean up your act.

No, CP should not zap while it cures. It should not zap straight after gelling, or for soap that is not gelled usually about 2 days. If it's still zappy after this time it's lye heavy soap, and no cure time is going to fix that.
This really is basic fundamental soap making knowledge, and in my opinion if somebody doesn't know this stuff they shouldn't be selling soap, or even giving it away. Seriously, someone could take your soap home, wash their baby with it and washing a baby with lye heavy soap would be terrible. Do you want to be responsible for that? Well I just read your answer up top so all I can say to you is I hope you have tonnes of insurance and if I were you, I would put all my assets in someone else's name, cos when someone sues you for selling lye heavy soap you could lose everything.
I am not trying to rag on you, really I am not, but you really need to get some more experience behind you before you even think about selling your soap. Your inexperience is obvious.
And hang on a second, you say you are a chicken, you will not tongue test CP soap for zap, but you are quite happy to go and sell it to someone? WHAT?????
And Deda, you don't know the half of it!!

I'm cool with whatever advice you guys have to give, I am a grown woman however a kid who most likely liked being on soap forums may not be able too participate on forums like this because she thought she was "helping the cause" by coming at me in real life.

so understand I take you soaping advice under advisement as any adult would

you are mistaken.

I don't need to stir the pot, that's YOUR forte. My aim is quite different.

carebear I have absolutely no knowledge if you are from the other forum.

Philly, all I'm saying is slow your roll a lil.
What's the big hurry in selling your soap right now?
Leave it for a bit, learn everything you can about this wonderful craft. Take all the advice that you can from experienced soapers, they've made all the mistakes in the book so please listen.
Your time will come, and everyone here will cheer you on, but for now why not just do some research and development.
You're not going to miss out on your shot.

I worked on my rebatch last night, cooked for almost two hours, scented with a vanilla apple scent, all the td is gone, so I made APPLESAUCE

NO ZAP! yeah!!!!!

I figure the ricing was from the eo/fo mixture, which was why the eo was on clearance from the suppliers, LOL!

OK, I know I'm new here, but I've been soaping for 8+ years and you scare the h#ll out of me! Please listen to the excellent advice that's been given to you. I didn't sell my first bar of soap for at least a year... No matter what you think, your first few batches just aren't going to be sell-worthy. I still cringe when I think of my first few batches.... Do you have a good, accurate scale? How many batches have you made? Really, no one's picking on you. They just want you to have a good handle on what you're doing before you sell. And you shouldn't be offering to teach others how to make soap until you're better at it yourself....
