I saw a video on youtube of this woman's soap company. I liked the design of the soap as well as the packaging. I found this article.

The mold looks like a drawer. But it has hardware that indicates the front removes so it must be a custom make mold not some typical drawer.

My question is what type of liner is she using? Is it some form of silicone?

I ask because I made a soap in a shoebox once lined it with parchment paper and it was very difficult to handle.

A second question. On her site I noticed that she had her company name imprinted in the soap. I have seen several sites which sell soap stamps but did not see any that offer custom designs. though I am sure they are out there.

Am I right in thinking you need a special stamp and not a normal craft style stamp?

I've seen those molds for sale, but can't remember where. The liner looks like it could be silicone, but I can't get a close enough look at it to be sure.

I'm wondering why she weighs it down after pouring. To make it flat? Prevent volcano?

I purchased my soap stamp from http://www.owossographic.com/
It is an investment (not inexpensive) but totally worth it!

It reminds me of the liner in my TOG soap mold. Their Etsy shop is empty but I found the best pic I could. http://www.etsy.com/transaction/42776463

I have no idea what it is made of, it is a dense firm foamy like substance, not silicone. It is non stick and works well. I have a white and a pink liner.
