Everything- beginning right from the dreaming stage and all the way through each stage to the shower. Unmolding each new batch is so exciting to me-I'm like a child on Christmas morning unwrapping a precious Christmas present. :) Using each new bar for the very first time is just as exciting to me, too, if not even more so.

I am mesmerized by the transformation for some reason.( have you noticed everything you stir is stirred in a figure 8 now)

YES!!! And l am constantly comparing everything to raw soap. I make custard now - looks like soap. Yesterday l made cauliflower soup, ooooh, when l stirred it, it looked like soap. The day before l made white chocolate ganache to help a friend decorate a wedding cake, and l bored her to tears telling her how similar the mix was to soap.

l love everything about making it, but especially the unmoulding and cutting. l could never buy a Tank because l adore cutting by hand. l also love using soap, and l love that my hobby creates something functional and useable as well as beautiful. That's really important to me.

I love everything about making soap. However, the creativity part of it is what captures my imagination cause the "skies the limit" with making soap. So many combinations of Fo's and oils and colors!!! You can be as creative as your little ole heart desires, it's all up to you. And of course there is the aspect of creating something natural - an end product that you can use every day and enjoy! :D

It's the anticipation of the whole process that captures me. Anticipitation of waiting for supplies, to getting all of the ingredients together, bringing the soap to trace, waiting til I can unmold and cut, to the waiting for the time when I can use it or give it to someone else to use.

I get the same satisfaction from making jam and jelly. The process is similar in so many ways. With the exception of the waiting for supplies, it just means a trip to the store or out to pick fruit.

I was making biscuits and gravy this morning and as I was stirring the gravy it made me think of stirring soap. Getting the gravy to come together is so much like bringing soap to trace.

I smiled reading everyone's responses to this.... I found myself feeling the same things many of you have talked about.

I love the creative process.... deciding on a single note or blend of scents, what herbs or botanicals would complement it..... whether it should be colored or not...... also enjoy developing recipes that complement the theme I go with.... I like that some soaps can tell a story...

I also like when the time comes to cut the soap. That's when it becomes "real" and I can see and touch the bars of soap that will eventually be used by me or someone else.

I also love hunting for new EOs, FOs, and EO blends.

I've become a total soap nerd! 8)

As a newbie, I enjoy most seeing what pieces of art you pros have created! And then imagining myself to be able to do the same.

A lot of what others have said...

quiet time for me in the house
the hypnotic stirring
excitement when it goes to trace
people enjoying it...I'm glad I could give them something useful!

My heart started racing like puppy love/infatuation when I was reading your responses. Addict, anyone?
