I have a nephew in the Forces who has been in Afghanistan twice now and I'm thinking about asking him how I could go about donating soap to go over to our troops.

If I was able to put this together - how many, if any would be interested in participating and how many bars would you be willing to donate?

Thanks!

Lindy

You could send the soap directly to him, then he could share it with everyone. Or are you meaning send a huge amount to be distributed all over. Regardless I'm in for as many as I could get into a flat rate envelope. Probably a half dozen.

I'm in, Lindy. Whatever you need - just ask. :) I have a nephew starting marine boot camp soon. Scared for him, but very proud too.

That's a really nice thought. I know that when people donate things to us they go off websites like booksforsoldiers and stuff like that.. but you can send a huge box of goodies just remember you have to have your customs paperwork filled out

Great Idea Lindy!

I send a box every few weeks to my STBDIL in Iraq. I fill it with girlie things, sample sizes from Sephora, Ulta and Avon - creams, toe nail polish, lip balms, shampoos and other ala femme things. I also send a few bars of my soap, several issues of Cosmo, People and Martha Magazines. Candy, cookies and snackie foods, too. I don't send too much at one time as she lives in a dorm room with 7 other girls and don't have the room for full sized bottles, they have to sleep in shifts at times.

When she gets the box she shares it with the dorm mates, they seem to like it and ask when I'm sending the next one.

*Edited to say, Beef Jerky - what is it about Iraq and Beef Jerky? My brother and brother-in-law, they always asked for Beef Jerky...

You guys are the best! Mhy nephew is home so I wouldn't be sending it to him - however he'll know how and maybe who to send this to there.

Once I have all that info then I'll see about putting this together - I just needed/wanted to know who might be interested in contributing.

Thanks
Lindy
