I made my first batch ever last weekend (HP), and I am looking to make another this weekend. My question is, do I have to cook it in the crock for 3 hours like it says in my book, or can I just cook it until it is neutral (took about 30 min last time), then transfer it to a mold, and oven bake it at 170 for a couple hours?

I've never let it cook for three hours. After mixing in the lye/water and oils I put the lid on it and wait until it folds. After it folds, I stir it until it gets to the temperature I want to add the E/O's at. Check youtube for some good videos.
