What do you use for your water in salt bars?

I only use milks and water in mine, but usually just water.
Figure they are already kinda pricey and a luxury bar already, so don't want much more cost put into them. lol

Another coconut milk user here. I also use aloe juice sometimes.

Re purees; I find purees like avocado or pumpkin to add creaminess to the soap. A little bit more creamy than coconut milk. I especially love avocado puree. Pumpkin puree I tend to use in the fall for pumpkin and spicy soaps.

Watch out for some purees. I love strawberry puree as the strawberry seeds add a nice exfoliation but the strawberries themselves turn the soap a medium brown. So now I just skin the strawberries for their seeds and puree them with coconut milk and honey. I do have a packet of strawberry seeds but they are not the same as fresh strawberry seeds. The dried seeds are way too scratchy in soap for me whereas the fresh strawberry seeds are just right. Go figure.

I'm really new to salt soap so only have about 6 batches under my belt. But I recently made one using peppermint green tea as the water then added the tea leaves into the batch. It's only been curing about 2 weeks but so far, so good!

I've been wondering lately, so would salt change the PH of the bar? I read salt in water has a PH of 7-8, but wondering if in conjunction with the soap during lather it would cause the PH to change? Maybe I'm just a dummy LOL.
