The last 5 to 6 batches of soap I’ve made all have white spots in them. I’m thinking maybe temperature and the weather change is the problem. I just started having this issue. Every once and a while I would get a white spot or two but now all of my soaps have them. I noticed the last batch I soaped at room temperature which my lye was 76 degrees and my oils 83 or 84 degrees and the spots are even bigger. I tried a recipe without palm oil and I’m still getting these spots. I’m wondering do the weather getting warmer have anything to do with it? I usually soap around 100 degrees. I tried using two different lye from different companies. I’ve tried using recipes with no palm oil. I’ve made sure everything is blended properly. I went back to using distilled water. I even melted my hard oils separate from the soft oils. I’m still getting these white spots. I have no clue what’s going on.

Well I figured out what was going on. I think they may be lye spots but not sure. But I got rid of my other scale and started using a new scale I have. I think the measurements were off with the other scale. I haven’t had any problems since I switched scales. Thanks everyone!
