I'm really happy I got so much done today but OMG it so a challenging go. First off I somehow ended up with raw Castille all over my shirt but didn't realize it until my arm starting itching and I discovered it on my arm - rinsed with vinegar fast and I think I did manage to avoid an actual burn. I have no idea how I managed to get it all over my shirt because it wasn't anywhere else. So now I had an interesting experience with my Texada Gold Hemp Soap which I've asked about in the CP Soap Forum so I had to get that all cleaned up and some of it seeped onto my hardwood floor. Although the soap was rather - shall we say - fresh there was no zap left in it.

Okay I'm done whining now - tomorrow I think I'll work on my lip balm and bath butter. I was going to play with a liquid soap recipe but it would seem I have a clumsy streak happening and I need to get over it.... :?

Thanks for listening/reading/letting me vent.

Cheers
Lindy

Eep, not a fun day at all. :( I haven't had one of those days yet when it comes to soaping, but I've definitely had days when it seemed like I dropped everything I picked up, knocked over everything I went near, and spilled every liquid I came within 6' of. Makes you want to crawl back into bed and write the day off as a loss, lol.

Hope tomorrow is far less eventful for you!

Yes, Lindy! I can relate.....last week I was making two very small test batches of soap - one, my basic recipe and two, changing the % a little to see if it makes a difference in the finished product. Well I was also having a clumsy day (fairly regular for me  ). Batch #1 was just reaching early trace when I realised I had left the tap running in the sink on the other side of the kitchen....so I stood the SB upright in the batch and turned to sort out the tap....the SB was not standing upright apparently and tipped out of the bowl, landed in the dog's waterbowl on the floor (which broke) and splashed raw soap on me, the bench, the cupboards and the floor  Lucky for me DH was home and he helped me clean me up and the rest. Batch #2 was fine

Now let me go find your Texada Gold Hemp soap Q.....

Tanya :)

Tanya - - I so understand - I was sb'ing my next batch when I felt the "itch" on my arm - so here I am almost to trace pouring vinegar on my arm and then running to change my top - in the meantime my soap is continuing to trace - I get back and I gave it a quick stir and got it into the mold....it was a OMG.....

Sorry to hear about your misadventures Lindy!

I've done the same thing - had raw soap on my shirt and my arm started itching! In fact, almost every time I make soap some part of my body starts to itch and I realize I've got soap on me! (I should probably be a bit more careful when it comes to "safety!")

Hope your lip balms and bath butter turn out great!

Hey Ashley - thanks! I haven't started them yet, but fortunately they are easy enough that I can get them done without too much hassle.

BTW - I left a web-site for you to check out for your paper needs....
