Are these lye pockets???

Hello, im new here!

Are these lye pockets? I just cut this yesterday so it’s not cured but are these harmless or lye??? I (think) I did the zap test.. it just tastes like soap to me but im not sure. Help

Recipe uses goat milk, olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, shea butter, jojoba oil, castor oil

Those don’t look like lye pockets to me likely just uneven mixing. If the zap test just tasted soapy and didn’t sting, it should be fine. Goat milk can sometimes cause texture spots too. Let it cure fully and it should be good. Keep us updated!

Those are really dark brown. Are you sure you didn't use any other ingredients, like colorants or fragrances? We do need to know all the deets (all ingredients, complete process) in order to provide good answers. :)

That being said, I agree with prior answers that those spots look like unmixed fats, or perhaps stearic spots. Both are harmless.

A zap will feel like an electric shock - if you aren't sure if it zapped, then it didn't.
