Ways to make confetti soap

Wondering about how to make confetti soap. I've seen two different ways: using scraps for soaps and throwing them in OR using scraps of soaps figuring out the oil scraps oil weight and subtracting it from the oil weight of your recipe.

Is there a preferred way or maybe it doesn't matter?

I don't do the math to figure out how much to reduce my recipe to accommodate the confetti. I just have another mold nearby and put any extra batter in that. I have some cavity molds my family likes, so a couple of extra bars will get used up.

Ultimately it doesn't matter. I've done it both ways. The only time I do the math is if I'm going for a certain look and need a certain amount of confetti. The rest of the time I measure with my heart.

Yep. Or a how much can I put in this time before it just crumbles apart. I like to soap on the edge.
