Water for soap

What water is it we need to use for soaps ive been told distilled water but cant fine any anywere

If you live in the US, look for distilled water in the laundry and cleaning section of a grocery store. It is also sometimes found in the soda and drinking water area, although it is easy to confuse with "spring" water when they do that. Otherwise, look in the automotive section of a building supply or hardware store -- distilled water is used in car batteries.

If you live in an area where distilled water is not sold, rainwater will work too if you let it sit for a time or filter it to remove dust particles.

Also try the contact lens solution area, or ask at the pharmacy.

I have a Brita filter system and use that water. I've had no problems with this.

So do I, same thing. I'm pretty sure that most municipal water would be just fine. But I guess if you want to use distilled water, you have to know where to look to find it!

I used to use tap water but switched to distilled when I couldn't figure out any other reason why some batches would get DOS.

We use milk, tea, coffee, beer, wine, ocean water...
I never use distilled water but I do use well water!

I think a lot depends on your local water supply. The mineral content of the water can contribute to DOS. It will vary from place to place. If you can't find distilled water, try any filtered water, and if that's lacking, try water from the tap.
