I want to make a veggie garden themed soap. Not neccesarily one to clean dirty garden hands (like I've seen some people make), but a veggie based, with veggie additives, SOAP!

I am going to add a bit of luffa for scrubbies and possibly some dried chives (though I'm sure they'll go brown?) I don't really want to use tomato juice/sauce in it as I've made one of those before and the smell seriously made me sick. I would consider using carrot - how do you suggest I do that? Cucumber - I didn't like the texture it gave my soap last time, but maybe it's just the way I used it (in place of 100% of the water, pureed and frozen in cubes). It gave a weird texture to my soap.

Any other suggestions? I'm kinda scared to do this as a lot of soaps I've added different things to have gone horribly wrong, LOL. I like to keep it simple most of the time. SOOOOOOOO I thought I'd ask before I DO, so it actually has a chance of turning out! LOL

Thanks everyone!

use baby food carrots. or there is carrot powder too. check out the baby food jars, lots of veggies and fruits there. and theres always DIRT FO, lol

i just had a crazy idea...what if you got some brown dirt soap color and then put it into a log mold and poked real baby carrots or something that shape and size into the soap in rows. let it harden up till you can take out the carrots and put in the empty cavity some orange soap. it could look like carrots in the ground. lol, i may be crazy though... :D

That doesn't sound crazy.

Here's another idea. Saveonscents has dirt fragrance oil.....maybe a touch of that with whatever veggie themed fragrance you want to use, and you would have a soap that SMELLED like a veggie garden too.

The soap I sent in the swap was baby food carrots , if you liked that , maybe that's a start ?Avocado's. Baby food squash , green beans , peas . I love using the pureed baby food , it's easy to use and the soap always turns out , unlike some other "foods" I have tried :D
