can anyone reccommend a sweet, strong vanilla fragrance oil? i don't care what color it turns my soap, but most have little or no scent. my last attempt smelled like play-dough!

thanks!

I love the vanilla that the Scent Shack carries. I believe it is called Vanilla Vanilla. I am tired tonight...I am hoping that is the right name for it. It does cause the CP soap to darken somewhat, but it adds a look of warmth to the soap, in my opinion.

vanilla

thanks for the info! it is vanilla vanilla. i like that they give usage rates for c/p for each fragrance. that takes a lot of the guess work out of the equation! a great vanilla scent has become a real quest for the "holy grail" !

I'm going to try soaping "vanilla Bean Supreme' from Bittercreek within the next few days, as I've heard it soaps well and has a really nice fragrance after curing. Will post results after I try it.

vanilla

just soaped a batch this weekend with soapsupplies.net the bendel bean vanilla. no discoloration-waiting for it to dry-down and so far i like it. it's not buttery-sweet, but drier and more sophisticated with a kind of cologne finish. soaped @ 1 oz ppo.

my husband really likes it, and usually the only thing he likes is the smell of pot roast! i think this would be a great masculine vanilla.
