So now that I have 4# of CO soap bars/powder I want to use some of it to make liquid soap for the bathroom sinks.

I have the general idea of how to do this so some questions:

Do I need to add glycerin?

Can I add vit E to it?

Can I add an EO such as Lavender or Lemon?

Since I will be making batches on an as is needed basis, do I need to add optiphen?

You know, in the meantime I will recommend you try one of those "make LS from grated soap for pennies" that you see on Pinterest and the like. Do as you like with it, and you'll experience the snotty, separating texture that convinces you that proper LS is the way to go :)

Someone on a facebook liquid soaper's group said recently that she had made LS from NaOH bar soap. She bragged it didn't have a nasty texture ... but she couldn't explain how to make it, because she didn't keep any notes. :problem: So it's anybody's guess what she did and what she really had when she was done messing around. Kind of reminds me of the "pH 7 soap" mystery that's been circulating lately. That kind of half-baked sharing of information annoys me.

I make LS from bar castile, for some reason it has a different texture then other bar soaps. With enough water, it looses the snot and is just thick. For cleaning would it really matter if its snotty?

I need to order some KOH and then I will run over and read the LS threads. I have to make a batch of coffee soap before I get disowned by my DIL
