Using my soap to make laundry detergent

I was thinking of making a 40% coconut 60% lard or crisco with borax and fragrance for my laundry soap. Does this sound o.k.?

Yes...that would make a good laundry soap....it will probably clean better if you use lard instead of crisco....I find my lard soap cleans stains better, but crisco does better in cold water. Go figure....it's all tradeoffs.

I make mine with 0% superfat, and add lemon fragrance oil....makes for very fresh smelling clothes when you're done.

I ground up lavender buds in mine, which probably does nothing but makes me feel earthy.

Then, instead of fabric softener or dryer sheets, ick, I put a bunch of lavender buds in sock and tie a knot in it. My clothes smell wonderful and have less wrinkles.
