Has anyone used Huckleberries in their CP soap?.....I have read some info on using fruit in CP soap and how it behaves.....but someone gave me a quart of fresh frozen Huckleberries and I would like to use some of them in a batch of soap. Does anyone out there have a recipe they would like to share......it would be greatly appreciated.

I just use my usual soap recipe and add 1 tblsp of pulp PPO, make sure you mash it up very well. As for huckleberries I don't know about those as we don't have that fruit here, someone else might know.

I just finished making some 3 fruit soaps. Raspberry - Strawberry - Blueberry. I do a 50:50 Lye Water and then take the balance as pureed fruit with added water to make a slurry. I add that to the soap at light trace and I add my fragrance then too. Because I know it's going to go brown I add cocoa powder to the soap as well. This part is half the soap I need for my mould. The other half I make without any berries and then I colour it to the fruit I'm using. Then layer or swirl as you choose..... Makes a nice soap...

I'd eat them instead!

Hucks will turn brown as Lindy says and the scent isn't going to survive saponification. So beyond label appeal or perhaps some exfoliation from the seeds, I would rather make muffins or pancakes with them.

If you did make it, let us know how it turned out.
