Hey guys !

I have made a bunch of soap batches this week with cocoa powder. Some have just a pencil line of cocoa powder going through the middle, and some i mixed the soap with the powder to make it a brown color.

Do you know if using cocoa powder in either of those ways changes the... "shelf life" of the soap ? I have never used anything edible in my soap, except for oatmeal....and I just want to make sure of this before I plan to give this soap to friends and family in a couple of months.

Thanks :D

I don't think it changes the shelf life of soap. I have soap made with it and I still have some over a year old and its fine. :)

I have yet to find out how food affect the shelf life of a soap, but I remember someone saying that the food will eventually rot if there is a lot of it. Chances are your soap will be fine since you basically used cocoa powder for coloring & added effect.
