I've been using FOs at .7oz ppo. I'm noticing that when I look at usage rates on various sites, some say for bar soap (depending on which FO) to use at 5% and some say to use at 20%. Do you pay attention to that at all? 20% seems really high to me. For instance, I got orange pineapple punch from WSP and it has a maximum use level of 20.90%. Should I keep it at .7 ppo or go up to 1 oz. ppo? :?

I'm guessing you saw that on the WSP site. That's just the amount that's ALLOWED based on the chance of irritancy or toxicity as per IFRA guidelines.

Actual use rates in soap are generally 0.7 - 1 oz per pound of oils (4.2% - 5.9%)

ah, I see...yep, saw it on the wsp site and did a double take when I saw those fluctuating usage rates. I was thinking what does that mean? Is it a really weak FO? lol

Thanks, I will stick to what I've been doing!
