Trustworthiness of Tallow/Lard Supplier

We have a supply of Lard/Pork Tallow that is easily accessible and cheap. The rendering plant manufactures Pork Tallow for the livestock industry. I am wondering if the tallow would be safe for soap-making. Is there anything I should be aware of, before buying from such a source?

Does anyone have experience with this?

You could always give a batch a try and report back with results. I would think it would be worth the risk.

I have not experience with them however, just my pragmatic thought process.
