I came across a place that was talking about Tomato soap. I have to admit I am interested in trying it out, maybe even making some but I first want to try it. Being that it is the middle/end of January and it is in the single digits outside, any hope of finding garden ripened tomatoes to make such an animal just isn't going to happen. So I am on the hunt. I am looking for benefits, thoughts on recipes and of course if anyone has any for sale I am in the mood to purchase some to try it out. Of course I prefer a bar made from fresh vine ripened tomatoes, not processed or powdered tomatoes and I would prefer a bar that has some good old fashioned lard in it. Yep, lard, it seems to be a dirty four letter word to many as all I am finding in scouring website after website and seller after seller is vegan recipes. I'm thinking I may have to do a tomato soap when the tomatoes ripen this year, extract some green from lettuce and spinach for color and make it with good old lard and market it as a BLT soap bar ;)

I have a 3 mIlk Tomato facial bar that I make with charcoal, lard...but I do not use fresh tomatoes. I use a tomato extract with tomato puree. These are very limited edition since the minimum order for the tomato extract is to much for me to use. Sadly I love this extract and it smells like fresh tomatoes. 2 kilos is the min order :-(
