Todays practice project was an in the pot swirl. I am a little proud of this because i took a recipe that i already made before, converted it into a bigger batch, and added fragrance and micas. AND MANAGED TO KEEP IT FROM GETTING THICK

i soaped at a temp if 112 degrees. I know, odd number, but both the oils and lye water were both exactly at that so i started lol. It was a sign lol.

anyway, i made more than i needed so i could fill some shell embeds and practice a swirl on top. I ended up with way more than i thought so i did the embeds, skipped the swirl on top cause i didnt want to screw up the top of the loaf. I did a small layer in another loaf mold to practice my swirl.

still ended up with more batter of magenta, so i filled up one of my 12 cavity mold about halfway. I just didnt want to waste anything. It was getting a little thicker by this point, so i didnt have time to properly wipe it out after my lemon bar soaps. But, i cleaned it out as much as i could so there we have it.

the first picture is my in the pot swirl loaf mold. The other is my swirl practice with leftovers. The third is my one of a 12 cavity because i didnt want to waste the leftover batter lol

i think i got practice on a lot of different techniques on this one. The only problem i can foresee at this point is the titanium dioxide boogers on the top of the loaf. Which i am sure goes throughout the loaf

Very nice, you should be proud!! Show us the cuts when you get them. As far as the temp, just keep them close and it depend what you going to do with your pores. I've pored at 95-115, but made sure my lye water was within 10 degrees of each other. For the Titanium dioxide, I have mine pre-mixed with water I weigh out that water and subtract it from my water to be mixed with lye. This has stopped the "boogers".

The tops....i experimented with spraying alcohol on top. I didnt even spray that much but it made like water marks.
