Three batches in

Hello everyone.

Me and my wonderful girlfriend have been making our own soaps though out the week. We made our first batch with honey and orange essential oil, second with tangerine and frankincense essential oil, third with lemongrass and sage essential oil.

They have all been lye heavy when they started but since we use the hot process technique in a crock pot we have been able to add in more oil throughout. Our last one, lemongrass and sage, was our best; good sturdy bar.

If you superfat your recipe right up front, there is no need to add extra oil or butter. Lye heavy soaps can be tricky to fix. Always use a soap calculator.
