This is getting frustrating

DWin...this post was about a year ago. I never do anything cautiously, so when I started making soap I jumped in with both feet! Lol. I made a lot of messes and then stopped soaping out of frustration (and time). Now I feel like I have a much better grasp on what I'm doing, and I've gotten a lot better!

Thank you very much for the encouragement! I'm one of those people who thrives on it. :)
 
It sort of becomes a "form over function" debate at some point. I want pretty soap and I love finding artistic talents I didn't know I possessed, but most of all I want a bar of soap that performs its purpose well. So if I make a batch that's not so pretty it's not a big deal as long as it gets me clean, doesn't dry my skin, lathers well, etc.
 
I started making soap well over 5 years ago and stopped because I couldn't find all the oils locally. I didn't know about FOs or EOs, so I made several batches of very plain soap and said the heck with it. Now that I have gotten back into it, I cannot believe all the cool stuff i can do with soap. I gave up too quickly back then.
