I'm glad you posted pictures of your soap. To be honest, I love looking at failed batches and ugly soap. We've all had them and it's kind of fun to see how bad it can be for other people, too. You managed a great save too, from garbage can to completely usable and a nice looking batch! Congrats. Not at all shabby for third batch!!!

Newbie, I'm sure I'll have LOTS more failed batch pics to post lol! I wanted to be sure to post the result though to encourage others to at least try to save their failures. Using the crock pot (first on low, then on high for a short period, then back to low) meant that very little time was required on my part and the result was a completely usable batch of soap, so not much to lose in trying.

Honestly, it looked and smelled so bad I didn't think there was hope for it, but thanks to the encouragement of you all I've got soap....and learned a few things in the process. How cool is that? :)
 
Your rebatch turned out great! Thank you for sharing your experience. Gives me more confidence that I'll be able to salvage a bad batch when something goes wrong.
