it isn't intended for soap it is a Tupperware Silicone Loaf pan with easy release. I am a Tupperware consultant so have easy access to these pans for pretty cheap.

I don't know how stable the side would be, you might get it bulging out, but then with it being curvy, you might not mind that!

I say give it a try , you can set the mold in a box or have something keep the sides stable .

I think it would work, obviously the soap would be easy to unmould. Would you cut it along those lines where the bumps are?

It's actually a regular sized loaf pan like you would cook some pumpkin bread or meatloaf.

but please tell me what IS that mold originally intended to be used for ??

Bread, meatloaf, it's just like a normal loaf pan same size.


Remind me not to ask anymore questions, for now on I'll just experiment myself, I can do without the references.

I don't think anyone meant to offend...now we will know that you're all business and no teasing.

And as for the topic at hand, I wouldn't use it because I'd be afraid of the "ridges" making the soap get stuck. And it's not like you could make a cool space-ship shape because it is a loaf pan. If it were a cylinder it would be different....

Just an update I used a round silicone made from the same material as the loaf pan and it worked wonderfully! It has been my best batch yet. The only down side other than it being round is it's tendency to hold the FO, so that could be an issue. It was SUPER easy to unmold, it popped right out.

tho i haven't tried any loaf pans, the silicone muffin pans work extremely well. i have some shaped like roses. for more ideas you might like to look at the siliicone specialty muffin pans here for ideas:
