Using the room temperature method.

1) Melted cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut and palm oils in a small crock pot and then added them to my room temperature oils. Next I poured in halk & half milk, fragrance oil and titanium dioxide. Here it is all sitting on the bottom before i emulsify it...

2) Side view and then here it is emisified with the stick blender.
3) All mixed together before adding lye
4) Ready to pour room temp lye, I have my strainer ready!
5) Here are what the strained bits look like...this is why I always strain!
6) here it is at "trace"
7) pouring into mold
8) making swirly top
9)all done and ready to pop in the freezer!

My house smells soooo good right now! Out of all the batches I have made, this scent makes my eyes roll into the back of my head *drools* :D ("Amber") by Bramble Berry.

I like your tiny whisk detail. I have one of those things but never had anything to do with it. I usually just swirl with my spatula but that is much more delecate.

Not realy. Im not a huge fan of patchouli. I like it but not my fav. But its not what i think of hen i smell this scent. Its just sooo aluring and sexy with some sweet creaminess. I smell mostly amber and sandalwood with vanilla.

Beautiful, as usual ;) I love the step by step pictures!
So why do you think you always have to strain your lye? Those look like undissolved crystals. Are you using ice water? Mine is always crystal clear, unless I have little harmless floaters (not undissolved lye).

Thanks for the info. Patchouli makes me want to hurl!

Thanks! I think they are just harmless floaters as well. i dont ever use ice water, just distilled. I only notice it when its concentrated lye solution as when im using the other 50% as milk (coconut, goat or cow) otherwise its crystal clear too. I strain anyway because you just never know. I always play it safe than sorry. ;)

You are good! I'm pretty sure I couldn't take all those pictures and still stay on track with the soap. Kudos!
It was my first attemp at this and i chose this one because it was an easy uncomplicated batch lol!

Royal you truly are a soap addict. Made a soap, ate some candy, made soap based on candy. I wanna be like you when I grow up! Thank you for sharing your creative process, can't wait to see the results when you post. Off to the dollar store to grab a couple things for my m&p project, should be done tonight !

Yay! Post pics of your project too! I debated on doing another batch but I figure I will spend a little time with my man lol... he's aimlessly wandering around the house.

R&R, I've been looking at molds like your clear plastic one above. (w/the Junior mints soap) I've only used wood up to this point. Can you rate that mold for me? ;) Beautiful soap btw
