Texturing tops

Ah, okay - I thought it was textured with a skewer as well as swirled. Makes sense now.

I'm also not a fan of the random dribble tops, but then I am not a big colourer anyway. The spoon top in the video is nice, I think. Being someone who loves HP, I don't think textured tops are something that I can really explore nor avoid too much, even with SL
 
Thats the point. I personally don't like highly textured tops. I prefer swirling the top with a skewer to flatten it out and leave a feathery top, and I've also seen ones where the last bits of soap were randomly dribbled on top and then completely left alone. Those are the ones where looking at the entire soap it doesn't look good (imo) but once they're cut the tops of each individual bar looks quite nice.

Mine have a slight texture with the swirls. Like Lin I like the feathery look to swirls with a slight texture.

Still working on this and have not been able to repeat the second one again. It either is too wet or gets grainy not swirly. I will try Lin's technique next time:(
