Do you test oil combinations before you use them in your soap? What's the best way to do this?

Dip cotton buds into the oils you want together, then put them in a plastic freezer bag and tie it up, leave a few hours and then open to smell.

I love that term " cotton buds"! in the usa we call them cotton balls. I like your words better.

thanks for the great tip Relle.

i'm a fellow Aussie so i'll try clear up our funny words. what we call cotton buds are what most call q-tips. we also have cotton balls, lovely lil fluff balls they are :)

We don't have funny words Kylie  ,the rest of the world does  .

I wanted to add to Relle's comment. I leave them in a bag or glass jar for several days. I've noticed sometimes it takes several days for the scents to marry. However, I've only done this method with EOs so it might be different with FOs.

be careful - as many fragrance oils and essential oils can eat right through a plastic bag.

Yes, I did have this occur.

I prefer glass jars. The small jelly jars work great and I run them through the dishwasher later. But it can work if I'm careful about dripping the drops onto a cotton ball and keep the plastic bag puffed up. I only let them sit for 3 days before I toss them.

Thanks everyone! That's good to know about EOs and plastic bag. I knew you had to keep them in dark glass so they would keep longer, but I didn't know they would do that.
