Terrible Experience with Peak

First, let me say that I don't know if this is something you're not allowed to do on the forum and if it is, I apologize. Moderators - feel free to censor if necessary.

I just wanted to let you know that I had a really bad experience with Peak Candle customer service. I ordered some fragrances from them. I was wondering if anyone else has had bad experiences with them.

Without boring you with a long string of details, I'll just tell you that it was a very bad experience and when I wrote to the owner of the company, I didn't get a response (I emailed and hard copy mailed a letter). I've never in my life dealt with a company who didn't respond to a letter of complaint. I'm thinking that perhaps my letter was intercepted by the very customer service person who I had a problem with, but I can't be sure.

Anyhow, please do chime in. I'm very curious as to whether this is just how they operate or my bad luck. I love some of their fragrances, so this is very disappointing for me. Thanks!
 
Sorry you had such a bad experience. I've ordered from them maybe 3 or 4 times and have never had any problems. I order fos if that makes any difference.
 
I am sorry you had such a bad experience. I only use them for a few favorite FO's, but for what it's worth, I always have great service with them whenever I order. They are also one of the few suppliers I use that send an occasional free FO sample in the box along with my order, which I like. Not many vendors do that.

Hopefully, you'll get it all straightened out soon.

I'm glad others have had a good experience. Maybe this was an anomaly and I'll have to believe that my letter never reached the owner. I do like some of their fragrances, so I think my only choice here is to ignore the whole thing and live with the bad taste in my mouth, so to speak. Thanks again for the input.
 
Very odd. They were my primary supplier for years and I've never had anything but great service.

I'm sorry you had to deal with stuff.
 
I've only ordered from them twice but I got extremely quick fulfillment of my orders, timely communications about order status, fast shipping and a free sample both times. Sorry you had a negative experience.
 
I've never had a problem either. Good prices, good packaging and love the free sample. Never had to deal with customer service though. Sometimes people don't take kindly to criticism and get defensive, maybe even more so since they don't seem to get a lot of complaints.
 
I've placed maybe 6 or so orders from them and have had no problems. Items are always In Stock, they ship quickly, use GLASS BOTTLES :D , and send awesome full 1oz sample FOs w/ every order. I've never had to deal with Customer Service so I can't comment on that, but I think this is probably an anommaly and I'm really sorry to see you're having trouble. Thanks so much to everyone for responding. I feel better knowing that everyone has had good experiences with them. I'm going to try to pretend that this never happened and just go from here. Thanks :)
 
i've had nothing but good experiences with them too, and love the free sample.

(edit: sorry, i meant to say phthalate instead of paraben.) i sent a suggestion recently to list whether fragrances are pthalate free or not, and got a prompt response back with a complete list of which FOs contain pthalates and which not, (i'll be more than happy to post it) and a note that they would be talking with their web team about including that info on their website. so my customer service experience was excellent!

sorry you had a bad experience with them, but don't give up!

I've ordered from them a ton too and also have never had a problem. I'm so sorry you had this experience though. :( Have you tried calling? If I were the owner of Peak, I would REALLY want to know if you had a bad experience with a staff member. You probably weren't the first and won't be the last if the owner never finds out. A great business like Peak shouldn't have someone like that ruining their business.

ETA- by someone ruining their business I meant the bad CS rep, not the OP. :wink: Just wanted to clarify.
 
Yea, Alan is typically great. But I think we've said that a few times now. 8)

I would continue to try to get in touch with them too! It stinks that one person ruined your experience with Peak and someone should know about that. I have also had good experiences with Peak. (have only ordered twice I think but nothing bad to say.)
 
Thanks, Tasha. I agree with you completely and that's why I wrote a thoughtful, respectful letter to the owner. If I owned a company, i would want to know about customer experiences. I sent it via email and snail mail and never got a response of any kind. It's very strange and leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth (though I do have a lovely fragrance in my nostrils!) :lol:
