I love both, but then I'm a Gemini :) I make more simple soap, but I do stamp and swirl. I am always tickled with myself when I try one of Celine's methods and it actually has some resemblance. Although I do tend to keep it simple, I love, love seeing how creative some people are using soap
as a medium. I think soap becomes more of an art form than something that is what soap started out to be. It's kind of like cake decorating, or chocolate
sculptures. People are so creative, they take it to a new level. IMHO, nothing beats a bubbly bar of soap that smells fantastic, but I am always inspired by the creativity of others!

It IS like cake!!! Sometimes you make something that is utilitarian. Like I just NEED to eat some chocolate cake. It is delicious and satisfies the need. Then sometimes you make the same cake, same icing. Only it is made with more emphasis on appearance for an event or occasion. I LOVE to look at the pics of the cupcake soaps, but I don't think I ever would make any. But I do love using a swirled bar of soap in the shower. The artwork continues to show itself as you gradually work your way through the swirly layers. It would be a loss to never experience the beauty of such a display. I am way too much of a utilitarian person to sit a soap on a shelf. I would only view it as something to be dusted(although I would truly love to NOT think like that!) My Grandmother had a set of beautiful decorative soaps that she set out for the holidays each year. They were beaded and ribboned. It was not meant to be used, only beauty to look at. I loved them and loved that she could do that.......just set them out for decoration because they were pretty.
