sugar's not melting, help!

Thanks guys! I guess I was worried for nothing in the beginning. I'll do it that way from now on.
 
Rosey, how I use sugar is, dissolve the sugar in your recipe water before you add the lye. I mix the sugar into half the recipe water as hot water. After the sugar is completely dissolved, I add the remaining weight of water as ice cubes to cool it down. I do it that was to use it right away. If I am not in a hurry, I'll just use all the recipe water as hot water and after I dissolve the sugar in it, I stick the sugar-water into the fridge and let it get cold before I add the lye to it.
