I personally use parchment for my linings. it's a pain to line, but so easy to take out.

i was looking around soap blogs, and on Lovin' Soap, she uses plastic liners that fit right into 3" PVC or mail tubes. not sure if i can post the link here, but you should be able to find it if you google...

btw, your soaps are beautiful!!

I love the round soaps as well and I was having some difficulty with removal. My dad suggested I use the screw on cap for the 3" PVC. He brought me one and right away I thought I couldn't use it cuz there was a groove where the cap meets the tube. I lined that area all the way around with duct tape then I greased it with petroleum jelly n my soap slid out perfectly.

Googled me some parchment paper. Never seen it in stores here but found an online supplier so thinking of giving it a try. I'm ready to go another round of rounds so can't wait for a handyman fix or a new mould. Well I could wait because I'm only a hobby soaper, but naaaaahhhhhh. I'll use freezer paper and mineral oil for this try. Cheers, you're all awesome.

PVC Soap

Line your PVC pipe with a silicone fondant mat - it will be much easier to remove - and you'll have a pretty print on the outside of your soap. Using an impression fondant mat vs a plain one is a better idea because the seam would be less noticeable as it will blend in.

Bit of an update. So, I applied the mineral oil and freezer paper tips as suggested. Thought I'd go with the simple solutions first. Well who'da thunk it. Worked like a charm. Beat the baking paper hands down. Unmoulded in seconds with one push. Haven't ordered parchment paper yet and don't think I will because this is so cheap and easy. Soooo thank you thank you thank you. I did get a wee volcano for some reason this time which I'm clueless about but I just cut the top off and all good. Cheers again you awesome bunch.

I grease mine with mineral oil. Also, grease the cap and part of the pipe the cap covers. Don't fill the pipe to the brim. That gives you some room to hook your fingers into the pipe and push down on something that will fit inside the pipe and press on the soap, like a tin can.

ETA: That's what I get for not reading the whole thread! BTW, GORGEOUS!

My tried and true method for removing the soap is to re-heat the molds in the oven on the lowest setting for 5-10min. Then take them out of the oven and slide the soap out. But be careful, the molds are quite warm. Works every time and the soap come out with glassy smooth edges. :p Hope this helps!
I've never used anything other then a cardboard rectangle mold but I was about to ask if anyone's tried heat or maybe even letting water run over/in it? Is that totally absurd to try water? It works to remove tight rings on fingers... Be kind, I'm a soap newb!

Also, DeprinaBubbles, your soap looks REALLY good!! super cute. Maybe the teeny tiny dent on the side can be how it sits so perfectly on a soap dish. ya know, like you MEANT to do that. ;)

LOL NurseEmily I'd be looking like this guy - :shifty: - I love it. Me pretending to be clever, will never work ya know *sticks finger back up nose*.
