This is the high coconut % soap that I made yesterday. It is scented with strawberry fo (I think I'm out now. he he) and sweet orange eo. I didn't realize what a great combo that is! Apparantly, there is a drink called Strawberry Stripper that has strawberry schnapps and orange juice. I think it would be a fun name but I'm afraid the alcohol/stripper reference might not be widely accepted by those near to me.

I made this CPHP and it was so loose and pourable that I decided to pull some out and color it with pink clay and then lightly stir it in the pot.

So far, I tried a sliver and it's lather is weaker than most of my regular soaps so I think my soapin' might have been off yesterday!

As they say...when in doubt...leave it out :)

If you are the one making it and you think the name makes you feel Iffy...imagine the general public....

it all depends on your market, I know people who would tear up those soaps and love buying them cause of that reason....Even more so if you made it look like a little shot glass or something with some garnish! (imagine that....thatd be cool!)...

Id buy it, but the little old conservative ladies probably would not

Alternatively you could name the same recipe two different names and see which one sells better .... lol

I don't sell my soap so I don't have to worry about that aspect of it. I just thought it was kinda funny.

the soap looks terriffic! :D

would "strawberry sunrise" be more acceptable?

i bet they smell WONDERFUL!

nice job! :D

Thank you! I do like the name Strawberry Sunrise. I think I'll use it!

Nice soap -- ya never know about lather. Maybe more will come later.

Me? Now, I would stick with the first name. LOL The little ole ladies would
think you're talking about the stripes in the soap. LOL
Just like everyone thinks of Christmas with the "Blue Balls" soap.
....Just depends on your point of reference.

Strawberry Sunrise is perfect. You could change the name depending on your selling venue...this is such pretty soap! I love that pink colour. I'd like to try combining those scents. What proportions did you use of the orange and strawberry to get a nice balance?

I made strawberry banana bubble bath bars and all I can smell is the strawberry.

I third that.... That one still says mixed drink and awesome....without the slutty undertones ;)

I would say it is Granny-Approved (not that I am one muahahah)

Thanks for the thoughts on the name. You all provide such great input.

The lather is just pathetic. I did not mind it but it's more of a lotion-y lather and reminded me of castile. It's not going to stand up to the hard water at my parent's place like I hoped. I can usually try my soap after a day and it's usually bubbly right away and this isn't.

I think I have a fatal combination for irritating skin: high % coconut oil, pink clay, and orange eo. I'll get my brain to fire on these things first someday...I hope. I didn't mind using it, in fact it was quite pleasant at the time, but I'm thinking my skin might not be as happy as it could be.

I made strawberry banana bubble bath bars and all I can smell is the strawberry.

For a 22 oz oil batch I used .5oz strawberry fo and .4oz sweet orange eo. I was going to use .7oz fragrance ppo so I figured that would be ok. It isn't real strong but mmm, I'm in love with the scent. I can equally smell the strawberry and the orange.

What are your bubble bath bars like?

I just tried one of my bubble bars tonight. The bubbles were great and plentiful, but I think I packed them much too tightly into the muffin pan to mold them. They were supposed to crumble under the tap, but I had to work hard to get it to break up and dissolve. My later batches came out better. I changed my recipe and did jelly roll type and they are much nicer. Let's see if I can find a photo here:
Ok, these I call Chocolate Monkeys.....Chocolate banana of course!

They are kind of like a cookie dough consistency when you mix them. I had to knead the colour in. Have to work fast because it dries quickly. There's glycerine in there and some liquid surfactants that help hold the dry stuff together.

Your soap looks awesome , I like strawberry sunrise or strawberry sunset for names .

Kitn

I hear ya on the pathetic lather thing. My high coconut oil salt bars were crumbly and I literally could not get a lather out of them! Your soap is very pretty! You should make labels for each of the names. I'd take the stripper one. LOL!

It lathered much better tonight. Not as well as it could, but still better.

This recipe feels fantastic on my face. I have read that a high coconut % is good for oily skin which I definitely have. Now I need to notice whether its making my skin oily-er.
