storing my oils

I was just reading around on the forum and realized that Hemp Oil needs to be put in freezer because it has a short shelf life!! I didn't even think about that some of the oils might need to be kept cold. I have Coconut, caster, pomice olive, palm, wheat germ, jojoba, hemp, and aloe vera (soy) ~ anyone know of special storage besides the hemp one?? thank you so much!

If you have room in the fridge the hemp for sure and wheat germ . I keep all my oils in the fridge ( I have an extra fridge ) . Coconut has a long shelf life as does palm , olive oil should be okay ( some oil have use before date on them ). If you don't have room in your fridge a cool dark place will help prolong the shelf life .

In my experience (and I only have the one bottle to go by) I bought a bottle of hemp last October and didn't realize to keep it cool. After two weeks at room temp, I saw it on the forum, and put it right in the fridge where I have used it a few times in a small percent. Anyway, it's still in there, I haven't used it in a few months, but it still smells just fine, the bottle isn't warping... There only 3-4 oz left, I'm going to let it sit in the fridge and see when it starts to go rancid (this bottle is from wsp, btw)

Kitn: That is a great idea. After seeing everyone's "saponifactories" I have been trying to move everything to one place, where it all fits. There is also an extra refrigerator in this area that we use mainly for the freezer and some soda. I think I will have to claim that also.

Jojoba oil is supposed to have a long shelf life, around 2 years if I'm not mistaken.

I made a shampoo bar with my hemp about 7 months ago , it has DOS but the rest of the oil in the fridge is fine .

Good idea , having it altogether makes making the soap goes so much faster , clean up is easier too .
